LinkLattice – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-02-15

Version: 1.0

This Privacy Policy describes how the LinkLattice desktop application (the “App”) by Entropy Tools Solutions (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information.

Summary

  • The App processes SOLIDWORKS files, references, and related metadata primarily on your device.
  • The App stores local diagnostics logs and a local SQLite database for indexing/search features.
  • The App includes telemetry/error reporting to Sentry for reliability monitoring.
  • The App does not include advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information the App Processes

Depending on how you use the App, it may process:

  • File paths and folder paths you select.
  • File/reference metadata needed for indexing, dependency scanning, copy/move with references, and rename workflows.
  • Custom property values read from SOLIDWORKS documents.
  • Settings/preferences you configure (for example UI, scan, and SolidWorks path settings).
  • Operational diagnostics and error details.

Local Processing and Storage

LinkLattice stores data locally under:

  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\LinkLattice\linklattice.db (index/database)
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\LinkLattice\diagnostics.log (and rotated .1, .2)
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\LinkLattice\startup.log

These files can contain file paths, scan statuses, operational messages, and app settings required for functionality and troubleshooting.

Telemetry and Error Monitoring (Sentry)

The App uses Sentry to capture crash/error and performance telemetry to improve reliability.

Before Sentry events are sent, LinkLattice applies a scrubber that replaces detected Windows file paths with hashed tokens to reduce direct path exposure in outbound telemetry.

Telemetry configuration may be influenced by:

  • Environment variable: LINKLATTICE_SENTRY_DSN
  • Stored setting key: sentry_dsn

If telemetry initialization fails, telemetry is disabled for that app session.

No Sale or Advertising Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Permissions and Capabilities

The MSIX package declares:

  • runFullTrust (required for packaged desktop app functionality)
  • internetClient (required for network features such as telemetry/online operations)

Core local operations (file scanning/indexing/reference operations) are primarily device-local, but telemetry uses network connectivity when enabled.

Data Retention and Your Control

  • Data stored by the App remains on your device.
  • You can remove local logs/database files from %LOCALAPPDATA%\LinkLattice.
  • Uninstalling the App removes application files; user documents in other folders are not removed.

Security

We apply reasonable measures for a desktop application context. Security of locally stored data also depends on your device security, account controls, and organizational environment.

Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for professional/engineering use and is not directed to children under 13.

Microsoft Store and Platform Services

If you obtain the App via Microsoft Store, Microsoft may process purchase, licensing, updates, and platform diagnostics under the Microsoft Privacy Statement: https://www.microsoft.com/privacy/privacystatement.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy over time. Material updates will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
