The steps to delete a sketch in SolidWorks is simple and easy moreover it is the same irrespective of the file type i.e., part file, assembly file. To explain the steps we shall be using a part file as an example.
Steps to delete the sketch are as follows:
- Select the sketch you need to delete from the feature manager tree.
- Now right click on the selected sketch.
- Then choose the option of delete sketch marked with red cross sign

- As soon as you the delete option a “Confirm delete” window will open.
- Click click “Yes” to delete the sketch.
In this, we are deleting the last sketch i.e., sketch 7.
Tips: Many times you might face errors after deleting a sketch to avoid such a case check for all dependent items for the sketch and make sure all relations are also deleted with the sketch.
