Can you outrun a Tesla Bot?

For reference, Tesla originally described the bot concept with a top speed around 5 mph. Average running speed varies widely, but a casual jog is often faster than that. Change the numbers below to test different scenarios.

Human and Tesla Bot speed notes

Usain Bolt’s peak sprint speed has been measured around 27 mph. Most people run much slower than that, and walking speeds are often closer to 3 mph. A 5 mph bot would be quicker than a walk, but slower than many jogs and runs.

The Tesla Bot, also called Optimus, is intended as a general-purpose humanoid robot for useful tasks. This calculator is just a light way to think about speed, distance, and catch-up time.
